  1. You could look at this way, how much money are you willing to loose? You really don’t need a fat wallet to start investing in companies. There are other websites such as Charles Schwab, Sharebuilder, Fidelity, just to name a couple, where you can trade stocks. I personally use Sharebuilder because they are part of ING and I can transfer money easy and they do not require a minimum dollar balance. Check each website out and then decide for yourself which would be the one for you.

  2. Depends on the services your looking for… Full service brokers normally want 2 to 5000 to start an account, discount brokers normally want 500 to 2000 to open an account, some dont ask for a min but to make a trade with them youll need about 100 for any order under that….
